This plot is north and west of Wheaton. Early frost hit this field pretty hard and obviously affected the 100 day corn hybrids. Planted at 34,500/acre.

The highest yielder was a new Pioneer 97 day hybrid P9703amx at 152.9 bu/a. By the yields you can tell this field had a rough go of it with either early season rain or late season frost. The Pioneer P9188amx in red above is a new 91 day that clearly is better than our old 90 day hybrids. It stands well with god drydown. The other thing that stuck out in the plot was the test weight on the P9917amx along with a pretty dry moisture for a 99 day corn. This year P9917amx is acting more like a 95-96 day corn. We also mixed P9917 with P9834, a low test weight and wet hybrid from Pioneer and you'll notice that in this plot, the P9917's test weight and moisture tended to drag the whole mix towards a better result.
