This plot is located 5-6 miles sw of Wheaton. Harvested on October 16th and planted in 30" rows. No witness here. The results:
Pioneer P0062xr - 212.96 bu/a - 13.7% - 57.1#
Pioneer P0115am1 - 209.75 bu/a - 13.0% - 59.5#
Pioneer P9917am1 - 216.93 bu/a - 13.2% - 59.8#
Dekalb DKC52-59 - 214.74 bu/a - 13.2% - 59.5#
Pioneer P9675amx - 197.34 bu/a - 12.9% - 59.8#
Pioneer P9630am1 - 213.04 bu/a - 13.0% - 59.1#
- Not surprisingly, plot was won by P9917am1 with three hybrids on it's heels. The yields were surprising as the corn itself didn't look like 210 bu/a corn. This is our last plot of the year and it's safe to say that P9917 was the dominant hybrid this year with P0062 closely behind it. P0533 was tremendous also but it is a 105 day hybrid so places to plant it in this area are limited. I will detail some of the characteristics of the hybrids in the coming days. I want to look at the yield data from around the area before concluding the blog for this year. October 31st is the deadline for maximum discounts from Pioneer this year and seed supplies are tight, especially for the big demand hybrids such as P9917 and P0062. Contact us shortly to get your name on these hybrids and maxing out discounts.
