Brunkow Competitive Plot

This plot is found south and west of Herman on the eastern edge of our sales area. It was 8 rows wide and a full 1/2 mile long for each hybrid. It has quite a few different products for you to look at. The results were given to me in the order they finished for yield so I will report it the same way.

Taking two of the top four spots for Pioneer was pretty good considering how many entries there were. Pioneer P0533 took some of our local plots as well. It is listed as a 105 day corn but it silks very early. At one time in our warehouse plot in August, there were only a handful of hybrids that were denting. Everything earlier than 94 day maturity was denting but only two hybrids later than 94 day were denting and they were P9917 and P0533! So it does act a lot earlier than a 105 day. We'll keep our eye on it to see if we can find areas to use as it's yield has been outstanding. P9917 continues to be outstanding everywhere we check it. We have seen it for three years now and we still haven't seen it be even mediocre, it's always near the top or at the top.
