We have been doing sidexside comparisons of seed treatments in soybeans for the past five years. The previous four years showed a yield increase in 45 of 55 comparisons, 81.8% percent of the time! This year was a little more up and down in results. We fully expected not to see much yield response this year as the soybeans really did not experience much early stress this year as the bean yields are showing. One variety, 91Y41, did not show any yield benefits. The other variety, 90M80's did. The results:
- Anderson Plot
Treated 91Y41 - 56.6 bu/a
Untreated 91Y41 - 57.8 bu/a
- Jorschumb Plot
Untreated 91Y41 - 60.2 bu/a
Treated 91Y41 - 60.1 bu/a
- Berger Plot
Untreated 90M80 - 43.6 bu/a
Treated 90M80 - 46.7 bu/a
-Yost/Sorenson Plot
Untreated 90M80 - 58,6 bu/a
Treated 90M80 - 59.8 bu/a
_ Yost/Sorenson Treatment Plot
Untreated 90M80 - 53.7 bu/a
Apronmax/Bioboost Treated 90M80 - 62.7 bu/a
Untreated 90M80 - 60.0 bu/a
Apronmax/Bioboost Treated 90M80 - 61.0 bu/a
There were 6 other sidexside comparisons of untreated vs treated seed in this plot using different treatment products and in five of those six comparisons, the treatment out yielded the untreated. Stop in the office and you can see the data from those tests. We used different companies products on those treatments and we don't have permission to publish them yet. So in a total of 10 sidexside comparisons, we experienced a yield increase in nine of the twelve comparisons. The five year total would be that in 54 of 67 sidexside comparisons (80.6% of the time), we experienced a yield increase from seed treatments.
